Position Summary:
The RN Program Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise; facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among all team members. The RN Program Manager promotes a climate for effective performance while allocating available resources to promote efficient, effective, and quality nursing/patient care. The RN Program Manager contributes in partnership with the practice managers to the development and implementation of strategic planning processes, day‐to‐day operations, and attainment of organizational and departmental goals. The Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible for the total management and administrative functions of the ambulatory clinical trainers, inclusive of resolution of coverage and scheduling issues. The RN Program Manager is accountable for the partnership with practice managers to ensure the management of patient care, human, fiscal, regulatory compliance and distribution and usage of material resources, as well as the total environment of the nursing division within the clinic setting.
Education, License & Cert:
ASN required, BSN strongly preferred. Able to be licensed as a Registered Nurse within the state of Pennsylvania and New York. Specialty certifications in a health‐related nursing field encouraged.
Experience:
Candidate must have five years nursing experience in an outpatient setting with demonstrated abilities in leadership.
Essential Functions:
Focuses on performance improvement.
Manages workflow and nursing resources of outpatient clinic or physician office.Manages clinical resources to support and enhance decision-making, provides assessment, analysis, planning, monitoring and evaluation of unit(s) delivery of care and services.Establishes nursing goals, activities to meet goals, and measurement for success in alliance with the clinic and overall organizational goals.Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.Maintains interdisciplinary approach through promotion and participation in clinic/community committee/activities in partnership with practice managers.Establishes interdisciplinary work teams to enhance patient care outcomes specific to primary patient population in the department.Meets regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates and enforces compliance with clinic, State, and Federal guidelines.Demonstrates and integrates population specific care for the adolescent/adult/geriatric/pediatric patient and appropriate standards of care and practice.Recognizes and identifies actual or potential nursing situations which may place the health care system at risk for corporate compliance. Communicates appropriately to practice manager and/or follows defined policy for addressing the situation.Remains fiscally responsible and strives to meet budgetary targets.
Anticipates, monitors, and adjusts human and material resources appropriate to volume and clinic patient population.Responsible for forecasting, developing and evaluating annual budgets for all program areas.Integrates clinical, financial, and operational data and evaluates the impact upon patient clinical and financial outcomes.Strives to attain and maintain an exceptional patient/customer satisfaction measured at or above benchmark mean.
