About the unit 

As the region's leader in radiation oncology services, Corewell Health Cancer Center at Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion provides radiation therapy to more patients than any other health care facility in West Michigan. Radiation oncology services are also available at our Holland and Reed City locations. We offer a full range of treatments and state-of-the-art technologies. The radiation oncology program at Corewell Health is certified by the American College of Radiation Oncology.

About Outpatient Clinics 

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area. 

Scope of work 

The nurse’s role in Radiation Oncology is patient focused, putting best practice first to guide the patient on what to expect before, during, and after radiation treatment. Assessment, patient education, coordination of care, and procedural assistance are the main focus of the nurse for patients with malignant as well as some non-malignant diagnosis. Our team strengths include compassion, teamwork, and collaborative learning to ensure high quality outcomes for our patients. Our nurses enjoy relationship-based patient care while in a supported environment as well as flexible scheduling to accommodate their assignment. This is an opportunity to build on your oncology knowledge and put your nursing skills into action to make a meaningful difference for our patients in Radiation Oncology.

Qualifications 

Associate's Degree Nursing or Equivalent RequiredBachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferredMI Registered Nurse (RN) Required upon hireAHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 daysOncology Nursing Society - ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate course completion required for RNs working in departments where chemotherapy/immunotherapy is administered. Radiation Therapy certificate course is required for RNs working in radiation departments. 1 Year required 1 year of experience as an RN working in oncology strongly preferred
