Position Description: RN – Registered Charge Nurse
BayCare Health System is currently seeking a Registered Charge Nurse to join our outstanding and compassionate Med/Surg Surgical team at St. Joseph’s Hospital. As part of the community since 1934, St. Joseph’s Hospital has been a partner for continued health and wellness. This is a surgical u nit that specializes in pre and post op surgical patients, mainly GI/GU, trauma patients, and any general surgery.
The Charge Nurse responsibilities include:
Proficiency in the care of a sub-specialty group of patients utilizing effective managerial skills.Acting as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team.Professional accountability and development.Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse.Acting as a mentor and resource expert.Why BayCare?

Qualifications:
Certifications and Licensures:
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is requiredRN (Registered Nurse) license is requiredACLS Certification if required by departmentRN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion in lieu of education. Certification must be RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice on the approved Clinical Registered Nurse Certifications Grid.Nurse Specialty certification is preferredEducation:
Bachelors degree in Nursing, BS in a healthcare related field, or RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification is required within 7 months of hire/promotion
Experience:
· 18 months of RN experience in acute care is required
· 1 year of leadership experience is preferred
