RN (Registered Nurse) LicenseDiploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing5 years as a Registered Nurse in Hemodialysis OR 1-year Acute Care as a RN OR 6-months Acute Care experience with prior LPN experience and completed competency assessmentBLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationACLS certification with the American Heart AssociationThe Registered Nurse – Hemodialysis responsibilities and skills:
Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of Dialysis patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standardsDelegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care teamCare for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical careMonitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical conditionResponding to medical emergencies for critical patientsCoordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after dischargeHigh emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient Professional accountability and development
