Clinical staff regularly work with patients under anesthesia and provide procedural support before, during, and after the ECT and TMS procedures. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** + Provide nursing care to behavioral health patients receiving Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) under anesthesia + Provide nursing care to behavioral health patients receiving Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), which is a non-invasive procedure + Perform pre-admission intake assessments, including assessments of the patient's physical and psychological states + Call patients prior to their appointments with guidance on preparing for sedation + Monitor vital signs while patients are sedated + Help manage emergencies and complications while patients are sedated + Provide phase I and phase II anesthesia support + Prepare patients for discharge and home care + Promote efficient patient flow by assisting with phone triage and record keeping **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS** + 1 year of perioperative, endoscopy, ICU, or emergency department nursing experience + An active ACLS (required by start date) + An active BLS (required by state date) + Active licensure to work as a Registered Nurse in Washington State **ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING** The new **Center for Behavioral Health and Learning** , which opened on the UW Medical Center-Northwest campus in 2024, offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state.
