Must be skilled at taking care of people with comorbid conditions including people with substance use disorders, mental illnesses, and complex physical health conditions. Must have the ability to work collaboratively with outside agencies and assist with transitions of care from ED or hospital discharge. **WORK SCHEDULE:** + Part – time, 50% FTE, 20 hours per week + Schedule TBD – 3 shifts per week. Tuesdays required. STEP is open Mon-Fri 7:30a-5p **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:** Located on the 5th floor of the Harborview East Clinic in Seattle, **The Specialized Treatment for Early Psychosis (STEP)** program at Harborview Medical Center serves adults with first episode psychosis. STEP clients can utilize these services for up to two years. The STEP team consists of 6 team members: a program director/family education specialist, therapist, psychiatrist, registered nurse, supportive employment and education specialist, and a peer support specialist. **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:** + Work with an interdisciplinary team to provide care to young adults with first episode psychosis + Opportunity to work with Harborview Medical Center’s mission population + Work collaboratively with internal and external teams/programs to coordinate care and assist with care transitions **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Participate as part of an interdisciplinary team + Record medical history, triage documentation, nursing visit and completion of orders + Administer medications, including injections + Provide health education, assess mental status, transitions of care and support chronic disease management in conjunction with psychiatrist/ARNP, primary care provider and other team members + Support patient utilization of community and social resources + Attend monthly meetings and trainings related to first episode psychosis **REQUIREMENTS:** + Active, valid Washington State RN license required by start date + Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing + Two years of experience working as a psychiatric RN + Ability to collaborate with inpatient unites, ER/PES, primary care providers and outside agencies + Experience working with people who are homeless and economically disadvantaged + Experience working with diverse populations including limited English proficiency and immigrants **ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER** As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
