Education and simulation support for virtual care center and service line. Combination of virtual education for health advancement and service delivery. Use of technology that augments the advancement of clinical education for staff and providers

Summary

Responsible for providing technical guidance, and clinical knowledge and expertise in emergency based scenarios in a simulated environment. Will serve as a simulator operator and clinical expert running pre-programmed and in-situ scenario, assuring all equipment is available to provide reliable operation, meeting technical/mechanical/curricular expectations for anticipated course programs.

Job Description

Hold a broad range of knowledge for mannequin operations. Knowledgeable of current clinical practice and be actively engaged in incorporating current research and evidence-based practice into learning activities. Additional responsibilities will include coordinating program, course, and class schedules; participating in simulation training for educational programs; serving as a mentor and educator for faculty and staff; assuring all equipment is in working order; participating in product-specific vendor training; reporting any concerns with equipment or vehicle in a timely manner; and maintaining all requirements, licensure and certification. Will hold strong interpersonal communication skills to provide effective training for individuals and teams utilizing adult learning principles. Must be team-oriented, patient focused, and self-directed. Adept to troubleshoot potential issues with an array of simulation equipment and vehicles. Possess effective collaborative skills to foster diverse learning in multiple settings. Have strong organization and prioritization ability.

Qualifications

Graduation from a National League of Nursing (NLN) or American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) accredited nursing program is strongly preferred.

Three years of hospital clinical nursing, emergency/critical care experience, and knowledge of emergency medical services (EMS). One-year experience with simulation training and a background in simulation-related education methodologies preferred.

Currently holds an unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Current provider and/or instructor cards in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) required or within 12 months of employment. Valid driver's license required. In addition, current commercial driver's license (CDL-CLASS B) preferred and/or ability within the first year of employment. Must meet medical certification guidelines for Sanford Health category 1 drivers.
