Mercy Hospital’s 7M Medical Telemetry Unit cares for a diverse population of patients ranging from ages 18 to 100+ years old. As an RN, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating patients’ discharge plans and monitoring and communicating patients’ conditions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to discover Mercy Hospital and gain hands-on experience in a rewarding unit. 

A caregiver in this position works from 7:00AM – 7:30PM. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement/monitor patient care plans and monitors, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.Assess educational needs of the patient, provide teaching and educational material as appropriate and validate understanding of teaching.Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from an accredited school of Professional NursingCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experienceBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
