Sentara CarePlex Hospital located in Hampton, VA is hiring an RN, Unit Coordinator (RNUC) for the Med Surg Stroke and Cardiac Unit. 

Full-time: 36 hours

Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Requirements:

·        Registered Nurse BSN

·        18 Months of nursing experience

RN Unit Coordinator: Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Unit Description: This is a 24-bed Medical-Surgical Cardiac Stroke Unit where we care for patients at a med-surg level of care with telemetry monitoring. The patient population reflects a variety of diagnoses to include cardiac care such as heart failure, stable myocardial infarction, chest pain, and patients requiring cardiac diagnostic testing. This unit is the dedicated stroke downgrade unit which includes collaboration with IMC, ICU, and our stoke navigator. All nurses will maintain a current NIHSS certification and stroke training.

BLS required within 90 days of hire.
