Responsibilities Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residentsManage and treat specific skin disordersCoordinates weekly skin rounds Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspectionConfer with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care planProvide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocolMonitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioningPrecept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing personnel Order and tracks the usage of supplies/equipment in prevention and treatmentAssist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facilityProvides information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the residentParticipates in Performance Improvement program as assigned such as wound and nutrition committeeParticipate in the planning and conducting of in-service training classes concerning dermatologic nursing skills and procedures used within the facilityAbide by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan
Qualifications Must hold an active RN license issued in the state of MarylandAt least 1 year of nursing experience requiredMust possess an active certification in wound careExperience with resident’s skin care working in a skilled nursing facility preferredProven leadership skills to assure smooth unit/area operations and quality resident careEffective communication skills to facilitate positive interpersonal interactionAbility to interact with others in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner Interested in this opportunity?
