Roads & Ground Labourer - Remote Camp

Description:  

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Roads and Grounds Labourer to join our Camp Services team in Northern British Columbia. The Roads and Grounds Labourer is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all walking paths & roadways as well as all grounds and vegetation on the project.  

The rate for this position is $20.00 an hour. Rates may be subject to change. 

Responsibilities: 

Ensuring the general upkeep of the external property in all seasons by providing snow and ice removal, mowing lawns, raking, and weeding, shrub and tree pruning, watering lawns, and cleaning sidewalks.  Safely operating hand-held equipment and tools used in maintaining the grounds and for the purpose of mowing lawn, snow removal, cleaning parking lots/sidewalks.  Operation of various pieces of equipment including but not limited to; bobcat, front end loader, sand truck, aerial work platform; dump truck  Collection and disposal of refuse and debris.  Cleaning of eaves on all buildings at site.  Maintenance of the exterior of the buildings, i.e. free of debris & leaves.  Organizing and maintaining supplies required such as fuel, oil, soil, gravel, ice melt, fertilizers, and weed control products.  Performing other duties as required. 

Qualifications:

Having previous experience as a groundskeeper/landscaper, operating and maintenance of related equipment will be an asset  Valid OSSA or OSHA approved certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform are desired  Be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision  Hold a valid and current class 3 driver’s license  Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating skid-steer/bobcat, front end loader, and aerial work platform  Ability to obtain certification for the use skid-steer/bobcat, front end loader, and aerial work platform required  Maintenance experience in a camp environment is an asset  Good communication, customer service and teamwork skills  Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) preferred  Ability to build and work in a team environment is crucial along with a strong commitment to personal and team safety  Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedure typical for maintenance operations   Basic PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook  Professional communication skills, oral and written   Ability to prioritize and multitask, work well under pressure, and effectively solve problems  Able to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
