Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking a Roadway Designer to use MicroStation\/GeoPak, Corridor Modeling, and Open Roads Designer to design roads\/highways, municipal streets, and pedestrian facilities in our Raleigh, NC office. \n

Responsibilities and Duties: \n\nUse project specifications, detailed drawings, and verbal instructions to complete assignments.\nPerform calculations, prepare material and specifications, and provide preliminary sketches and notes for drawings.\nWork closely with engineer\/project managers to obtain project information, recommend changes, and ensure drawings are accurate and complete.\n\n

Skills and Qualifications:\n\nBS in Civil Engineering with 1-3 years of progressive transportation design experience or AAS in Civil Engineering with 3-5 years of progressive transportation design experience\nCompletion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is preferred\nUnderstanding of design principles, standards, and practices\nExperience with NCDOT design standards and practices is preferred\nProficient with MicroStation\/GeoPak preferred\nProficient with Corridor Modeling, preferred\nAbility to analyze and interpret information from multiple sources to complete assigned tasks\/projects\nAbility to use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.\nAbility to work productively with limited direct oversight and management\nEffective writing and verbal communication skills\nSelf-motivated, meticulous, and able to meet project-specific standards and timelines\nAbility to collaborate\n\n
