Effective presentation skills are vital in this role, as well as the ability to ensure standards and goals are met in each timeframe. Therefore, planning, and critical thinking skills are both essential for success in this position. The ideal candidate will also act with our students in mind and establish and maintain effective relationships with students to gain their trust and respect.

Responsibilities Conduct classroom and shop training utilizing proper instructional techniques, practices and following approved curriculum on the following topics:AC/DC Electricity & Digital ElectronicsIndustrial Mechanics – Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical DrivesProgrammable Logic ControllersIndustrial NetworkingManufacturing Systems such as 3D Printing, Conveyors, and Industrial RobotsUtilize equipment and training aids in daily lessonsReport all damaged or missing instructional equipmentEnsure that classroom and shop areas are kept clean, orderly and promotes a learning environmentMaintain and record student attendance and gradesPrepare class lessons and test in a timely mannerAdminister tests and make-up tests per UTI procedures manualEnsure that students follow all established policies, procedures, and safety practicesEnsure that a professional training environment is always maintained in the classroom and shop areasOther duties as assigned Qualifications

Education/Experience

REFER TO INSTRUCTOR LICENSING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS GRIDMechatronics experience is preferredProgrammable Logic Control experience preferredC Programming preferredAutodesk Inventor experience a plusTeaching experience a plus

Skills

Ability to instruct students of various ages and diverse backgroundsAble to work productively and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staffStrong oral and written communication skillsExcellent customer service skillsGood working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel required)Must be able to deal responsibly with confidential informationMust be personable, energetic and have a customer service orientationMust be self-motivatedMust be able to work alone or with a team

 

Abilities

Must be able to instruct two consecutive courses per workday; number of hours will vary based on campus location and program (applies to campuses with ADT II curriculum)Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds for short periods of time during the workdayMust be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time during the workdayMust be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn, and reason for all the workdayMust be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.

 

Working Conditions

Majority of time spent in education environmentWork will consist an 8-hour day, 75% teaching and 25% administrationAppropriate safety measures must be followedExposure to chemicals that are standard to the industry
