Robotics Simulation Engineer
Insight Global
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a "Stamping Process Simulation" role where an engineer utilizes specialized software to design, model, and virtually test manufacturing processes, primarily focusing on sheet metal stamping equipment, to optimize production efficiency, identify potential issues, and validate designs before physical implementation in a factory environment. This role requires proficiency in 3D CAD, robotics programming, and simulation tools to create realistic motion of manufacturing operations. This position would specifically focus on process simulate and robotics programming.
Responsibilities could include:
Modeling manufacturing processes:
Create detailed 3D models of workstations, robots, tooling, and workpieces within the simulation software to accurately represent the real-world Stamping production environment.
Off-line programming and motion path planning:
Define stamping equipment movements, speeds, and collision detection within the simulation to optimize production and cycle times. These tasks include material handling, part transfer and stamping press functionality.
Process optimization:
Analyze simulation results to identify bottlenecks, potential collisions, and areas for improvement in the manufacturing process.
Virtual commissioning:
Test and validate stamping layout and designs virtually before physical implementation to minimize errors and downtime on the shop floor.
Data analysis and reporting:
Interpret simulation data to generate reports on cycle times, throughput, and other key performance indicators.
Collaboration with design teams:
Work closely with engineers from different disciplines to incorporate design changes and feedback into the simulation model.
