The importance of your role
This role leads, supervises and delivers efficient pharmacist deployment and resourcing of stores within Boots Ireland, to deliver complete care to our patients
What you’ll be doing day to day
• Ensures we have the best pharmacists in the company and works to place pharmacists in appropriate stores minimising the number of relief and locum pharmacists needed. Is accountable for succession planning for recruitment of relief pharmacists.
• Ensures the right pharmacist is in the right store at the right time every day, with the capability to make professional pharmacy legal & ethical decisions, enabling achievement of consistently high pharmacy CCM which is reflected in on-target delivery of items and services income, driving customer loyalty and enabling continuing delivery of all nationally commissioned & locally available services
• Owns, with the HR partner, the relief pharmacist manpower plan and works to support the achievement of the Pharmacist salary budget. Informs decisions about number of relief pharmacist for the future, pharmacist intern numbers and works with the Resourcing Manager to shape and deliver the local pharmacy resourcing plan
• Embeds and sustains Performance Leadership - unlocks legendary performance in their people, and ensures a rich stream of talent across the PDPs and Pharmacist Relief team contributing to the success of Boots Ireland
• Is an authentic, flexible leader who is famous for developing their team, inspiring others to want to be part of the future they are creating through strong belief and actions that deliver outstanding results
• Leads delivery of Pharmacist Commitments (related to deployment) through their team
• Leads training and development for PDPs and the Pharmacist Relief team
• Proactive in seeking opportunities to understand the pharmacy strategy for Boots Ireland, and other local strategies
• Co-ordinating entry, induction of Newly Qualified pharmacists
How will you be doing it?
• Coaches and leads the pharmacy deployment planners and Relief Pharmacists
• A high level of professional expertise and widely respected by peers, pharmacists, store managers, Area Managers and other stakeholders
• Owns the development, education & training of PDPs and Relief Pharmacists, thus building pharmacy capability
• Good stakeholder/ relationship management with external locum agencies • Collaborative working with the Regional Team
What you will need to have.
• Proactively seeks to understand Boots pharmacy strategy and is able to articulate clearly and deliver in partnership with line manager and regional stakeholders
• Experience of completing, communicating and facilitating mandatory training
• Understands, communicates and facilitates successful DP directed training, including advanced Boots training interventions completing themselves if appropriate
