Rolling Mill Operator II - Meco 5th Shift  

Thursday & Friday (7:00pm – 3:00am) Saturday & Sunday (7:00pm- 7:00am) 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Loads and unloads sheets of material onto the spools of the Intermediate Mill or, plates and pucks onto the conveyor of the Meco Mill.Assists in the inspection of the material being rolled, measuring thickness and rolling widthWhere applicable, inserts material protecting device during operationAssists in roll changes and welds leader ends.Assist troubleshooting of equipment problemsInspects material to ensure product adheres to specifications outlined by the production order and notifies the supervisor of any problems and/or material defects.Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains high quality standards.Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition daily by following 5S standard work practices.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

Requires a high school or vocational degree or equivalent.Experience in a mill product or metal working manufacturing preferred.Follows good safety practices, complies with PPE requirements, and follows environmental policies.Basic math skills are required to perform necessary job functions.An understanding of basic measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers).Good communication skills including the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with some machining experience is a plus.May require the use of fork trucks, overhead cranes, hand carts and hand tools.Must be capable of obtaining a fork truck license and/or overhead crane license and must obtain a lockout/tagout certification Must have the ability to keep neat and accurate records.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
