Rope Access Foreman (Level 3)

Rope Access Foreman (Level 3) Gulf of Mexico Platforms- Offshore

 

Position Summary:

Bilfinger is a leading international services contractor with a proven track record in providing integrated, multi-disciplined support services and maintenance solutions to international blue-chip clients, primarily in the energy, petrochemical, industrial, and utilities sector. We are currently recruiting for multi-disciplined candidates with Rope Access Level 3. These positions require an experienced, self-motivated, safety-conscious individuals.  These individuals must possess the skills required to lead, motivate, and direct craftsmen in the day to day execution of the work scope. The optimal candidate will have a basic working knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines. Work locations may vary (offshore). 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must have good communication and network skillsMust have good teamwork skills, ability to coordinate with different department heads within the company.Preferably to have a strong background in the Pipeline, Petrochemical and/or Oil & Gas Market SectorsMust have ability to perform various technical services while working on ropes. SPRAT Rope Access Level 1, 2 or 3 certifications NDT level 2 Certifications are a plusOffshore Experience RequiredTWIC CardSafe GulfResponsible for the immediate supervision, implementation, and oversight of the rope access program at the work siteCommunicate and coordinate with clients and their safety representatives regarding rope access safety and rescue proceduresEnsure that all procedures are understood prior to the start of workComplete all required planning, safety meetings and documentation, including work permits, job hazard analyses, safety meetings and rescue plansEnsure that the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to be usedIdentify work zones and ensure the safety of any personnel or public who may enter these zones.Make certain that a prompt rescue of rope access personnel can be accomplished and that emergency services are availableMake certain that all equipment on the work site is protected from damage and is maintained in a safe condition throughout the workEnsure that any rope access equipment that is damaged at the work site is removed from serviceMentor junior employees in rope access and working proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

They must be goal oriented and have the ability to remain focused under pressure. 

Advancement is based on past performance, work history and tenure. 

Change of status must be initiated by a superintendent and cosigned by the department manager.

They must possess a full understanding of mechanical work procedures, schedules, and plans. 

Intellectually the worker must be able to apply and interpret principles of rational systems (bookkeeping, engines, electronics, building), to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; must be competent in beginning algebra and geometry and should be skilled in the computation of discount, interest, profit and loss; commission, markup, and selling price; ratio, proportion; and percentage.

The worker must be able to read safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of shop tools and equipment, and methods and procedures in mechanical drawing and layout work.

The worker must able to write reports and letters with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.

The worker must be able to speak, using correct English before an audience with poise, voice control, and confidence.

The amount of specific job training required to learn the techniques, information, and facility needed for average performance in this position is from 4 to 10 years.
