The Rope Access Training Coordinator is responsible for leading and supporting rope access training operations across two MISTRAS facilities. This includes organizing and delivering training courses, mentoring technicians, managing training equipment, and handling course-related administrative tasks. The coordinator works closely with instructors, support staff, and leadership to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality training aligned with SPRAT standards and company policy.

This role carries a high level of responsibility, not just for instruction, but for influencing the safety mindset of trainees. The Coordinator must maintain a clear understanding that the lives and well-being of future technicians depend on the quality of training and leadership delivered. A commitment to safety, sound decision-making, and a calm, composed demeanor is essential.

This role may also support field-level audits on an as-needed basis.

Major Responsibilities/Activities: Deliver rope access training as a certified SPRAT Level III Instructor. Organize, schedule, and support rope access training courses for internal and external personnel. Mentor and assess rope access candidates in technical skills, safety, and professional development. Manage course enrollment, candidate registration, and related certification paperwork. Serve as the primary point of contact for training-related inquiries, including SPRAT/IRATA coordination. Coordinate instructor assignments, travel logistics, and facility readiness. Manage and maintain training gear inventory, including inspections, tracking, and replacements. Process training payroll, course billing, and financial reporting in coordination with internal departments. Collaborate with internal teams on marketing efforts related to training programs. Maintain accurate and timely records of training activity, candidate performance, and certifications. Participate in periodic field-level rope access audits, as requested by management. Ensure training facilities and programs operate in compliance with MISTRAS safety standards. Support general administrative duties for the Training Department as needed. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred. Active SPRAT Level III certification with relevant training or instruction experience. Experience in training coordination, education, or technical instruction preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and cloud-based platforms (e.g., Google Drive). Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and work comfortably at a desk or training facility environment for extended periods. Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and instill confidence in others—recognizing that decisions made in training may influence real-life, high-risk situations.
