Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) is seeking applications for a skilled Rotating Equipment Mechanic to join its Kenai, Alaska Refinery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial machinery, including but not limited to centrifugal process pumps, reciprocating and centrifugal high-energy compressors, steam turbines, blowers, and fin fans. This role involves ensuring optimal performance and reliability through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs in an industrial refinery setting. Expertise in mechanical seals, bearings, lubrication systems, and alignment procedures is essential for this position.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain safe and compliant equipment in accordance with RSP-1308 and all other Marathon governing documents.Repair, maintain, troubleshoot and analyze all mechanical equipment pertaining to the facility, while providing leadership, training, and guidance to othersCutting, drilling, grinding, threading, installing piping/tubing and assisting with preventative maintenance assignments and other duties as assigned.Must be able to effectively and consistently use precision tools and accurately document measurementsWork as a team member with mechanics and other crafts at the refineryResponsible for coaching and mentoring of co-workers while keeping a positive attitude and workplaceMaintain and submit documentation for accurate record keeping of equipment repairsMaintain proper housekeeping in the shop, crane, trucks and at jobsiteStrive for Zero reworks due to workmanship or avoidable material issuesBe an active part of a culture that promotes ethical practices and legal compliance, encourages customer service, individual integrity, safety, teamwork, employee innovation and accountabilityStrive to be proficient with SAPMust be willing to climb ladders, work at heights and in confined spaces while wearing full face or supplied air respiratorMust be willing to champion any assigned jobs/dutiesObtain and keep current NCCCO Crane Operator certificationKeep all computer-based training up to date and complete all assigned ECT modulesPositively engage in morning toolbox and safety meetingsKeep non-work-related cell phone and other distractions to a minimumParticipate in call outs and able to work nights, weekends, holidays and work over as needed to support the refineryThe hours of the position are 4/10’s with occasional overtime, callouts and TAR support every three years

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

GED or High School Diploma is requiredMust have a valid Alaska State Driver’s License is required (Driving record with no major infractions)3-years of rotating equipment maintenance experience preferredMust be able to pass physical requirementsMust have or be able to obtain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card is required

PAY & BENEFITS:
