About the position:
The Rotating Equipment Reliability Analyst position is a member of the Reliability Condition Monitoring and Rotating Equipment Team at the Chevron ENGINE Center. This role forms part of a larger Reliability and Integrity network across Chevron with the primary purpose to monitor and maintain the performance of a variety of rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, drivers and associated systems. The Rotating Equipment Reliability Analyst will support Chevrons Refineries and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Optimizes equipment integrity and reliability, safety, and efficiency for multiple complex pieces of rotating equipment across Chevron assets
Tracks performance and reliability metrics, troubleshooting complex machinery issues, and supports the development of rotating equipment competencies in maintenance and operations personnel
Supports workflows covering Rotating Equipment Monitoring and Condition Monitoring using monitoring and data capture methods
Supports Operating Asset Unit Reliability Briefs (forum for detection, discussion, and mitigation of potential reliability issues), turnaround work input, and job�� scope development for pumps, compressors, blowers, and rotating equipment infrastructure in Chevron assets
Develop and maintain maintenance history reports/documentation, repair costs, equipment performance, and vibration history records to identify excessive maintenance, design faults, and poor performance with �Bad Actor� equipment
Support the investigation and troubleshooting of rotating equipment failures or performance issues through root cause analysis methodology
Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards as well as applicable Chevron standards, instructions, and guidelines relating to rotating equipment
Support inputs to economic analysis for proposed upgrades or improvements to rotating equipment assets
Facilitate analytical diagnostic troubleshooting evaluations for questionable equipment, including in-depth vibration analysis and performance tests
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Technical, Routine Maintenance, Turnaround and Projects) to achieve the Team, Department and asset goals
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience as a millwright, mechanic, or machinist in an operating facility or repair services company
Minimum 8 years direct experience with rotating equipment in an oil refinery or gas operating facility
Working knowledge of industry-specific American Petroleum Institute (API) repair standards and practices
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint)
Good written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of refinery and LNG process technologies will be highly regarded
