Your role and responsibilities
A Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) position has become available at Cave Veterinary Specialists, Wellington, Somerset. We welcome applications for full and part time applicants. Average of 1:5 weekends and 1 weeknight on call per week.
Our rotational RVN team have a varied role with the opportunity to be involved in the care and support of patients from all disciplines including internal medicine, oncology, neurology, soft tissue, and orthopaedic surgery and dentistry.
The successful individual will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skillset in all aspects of referral veterinary nursing with support from experienced rotational and discipline-specific nurses.
Daily duties include but are not limited to:
Providing gold standard care to both inpatients and day patients by developing and implementing care plans in conjunction with our specialists.
Patient care and case handovers; liaising with clinician, nurse and PCA team’s.
Supporting patients under sedation and general anaesthesia during diagnostic and surgical procedures.
Supporting patients during advanced imaging such as ultrasound, CT and MRI.

Potential applicants will need to be effective at time management and communication, have a desire to grow within the role and passionate about providing the best standard of care to our patients.
