Aftermarket Machinery Engineer - Turbomachinery OEM
Rotoflow™, an Air Products Business, is a full-service turbomachinery OEM providing a wide range of new equipment solutions and aftermarket services to customers globally in market segments such as industrial gases, petrochemicals, and hydrocarbons. Aftermarket services include spare parts, repairs, upgrades, field services, engineering evaluations, reliability and performance assessments, troubleshooting, training, remote diagnostics/data monitoring, and shop services from regional service centers for both Air Products and non-Air Products equipment.
We are seeking an Aftermarket Machinery Engineer at our turbomachinery service center in Houston, Texas, responsible for providing engineering support for spares, repairs, upgrades, reverse engineering, and field service of all types of turbomachinery.

Responsibilities:Support machinery refurbishment, upgrades, and rerate activities by developing technical scope for service activity in both field and service centers, including detailed design engineering of mechanical and aerodynamic systems.
Develop, update, and implement procedures and processes for servicing various turbomachinery products, including other OEM equipment.
Perform reverse engineering of turbomachinery components to create replacement part engineering and manufacturing drawings.
Participate in Root Cause Analyses and develop technical reports for customers.
Act as a primary technical point of contact to internal and external customers, including troubleshooting requests.
Provide on-site support as necessary, with an average travel expectation of 25%, subject to change based on planned/unplanned activities.
Support proposal development by reviewing technical scope and cost for repairs and field services.
Work closely with senior product engineers for effective knowledge transfer.
Provide input on staffing and resources to ensure customer needs are met.
Ensure individuals supporting field activities are trained and qualified, creating training programs as needed.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and customer value.
Develop engineering capabilities for the aftermarket service business, including RCA, FEA, CFD, rotordynamics, and redesigns.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Five or more years of experience with repair disposition of turbomachinery or related technologies.
Hands-on knowledge of turbomachinery, accessory systems, and related technologies.
Strong understanding of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Knowledge of equipment assembly, operation, and maintenance.
Familiarity with machinery commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing practices.
Understanding of control systems and instrumentation for commissioning and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, API, and other relevant codes.
Experience with SAP ERP systems.
Proficiency with drafting and modeling applications such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Effective communication, documentation, and technical writing skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and escalate resource gaps.
Highly Valued:Ten or more years of experience with turbomachinery or related technologies.
Detailed engineering experience with Rotoflow™ or similar OEM equipment.
Knowledge of design for manufacturability and GD&T.
Experience with reverse engineering techniques.
Skills in aerodynamic design of components, gas dynamics, CFD, and FEA of centrifugal impellers.
Familiarity with various bearing types (oil, gas, magnetic, etc.) and troubleshooting rotor-bearing systems.
Experience with dry gas seals and controls systems for PLC/DCS.
Expertise in designing mechanical and aerodynamic components for upgrades and rerates.
Familiarity with tooling design and strong knowledge of SolidWorks/3D modeling.
