Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational. Program Description:Our vibrant Older Adult Center/Home Delivered Meals helps older members of the community live life to the fullest by providing case management, support services and activities to more than 3,000 center members. Birthday, holiday parties and other social events strengthen the sense of community. Our hot lunches provide vital nutrition support at an affordable price. Our seniors are actively involved in the center, so services and activities reflect their needs and interests. Position Summary:The Route Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of meals to homebound seniors. This position supervises delivery teams, oversees vehicle maintenance, coordinates routes, and ensures compliance with organizational and safety standards. Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week (7:00am-3:00pm) Hourly Rate:$21.00/hr Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties Primary Duties: + Supervise teams during the pick-up and delivery of meals to homebound seniors. + Provide route support by picking up and dropping off delivery staff in the absence of the designated driver. + Manage operations by monitoring GPS to track routes, ensure timely deliveries, and address any route deviations + Ensure all vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and in proper working condition. + Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any operational or structural issues immediately. + Review and verify that vehicle documentation, including inspection records, registration, and insurance, is current and properly maintained. + Assist in planning and scheduling meal delivery routes to optimize time and distance. + Attend all required staff trainings and meetings. Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or transportation is a plus. + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. + Previous experience in transportation, delivery coordination, or team supervision preferred. + Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. + Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse teams. + Commitment to serving older adults and ensuring timely meal delivery. + Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. + Able to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas Day. Work Environment: + Must be able to lift up to 50lbs + Work may include exposure to varying weather conditions during travel. + Flexible availability, including potential early morning shifts.
