Job Purpose

Our London Restaurant Support Centre is a base of support to Pizza Huts across the UK, Ireland, France and Europe. It’s from the RSC that we connect the team to Pizza Hut Operations, cooking and tasting the exciting food innovation coming out of the test kitchen. 

We cook, taste, repeat. All this cooking and tasting needs a superstar RSC Kitchen Assistant. Reporting to the Head of Food Innovation, and taking lead from Europe and Global FIT teams, the role of RSC Kitchen Assistant will support in managing all aspects of the kitchen, providing support to execute our innovation and ensure high standards of food safety and quality. 

 

Job Functions

Key Responsibilities:

Support Food Innovation and Operations: Provide end-to-end support for new and existing product assessments, including managing food orders, receiving product deliveries, ensuring FIFO (First In, First Out) practices, and managing the shelf life of stock and prepared foods. Order food and supplies from suppliers such as Best Foods and Lockhart, ensuring accurate and efficient ordering processes to avoid over-ordering and multi-product ordering. Organize and manage the receipt of orders and supplier samples. Prepare dough, sauces, and other ingredients to set up tables. Make Brand Standard products to connect the wider RSC and visitors to our products

 

Food Safety and Quality Assessments: Act as a food safety champion for the RSC, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and best practices. Support quality and food safety assessments and record necessary measurements electronically. Support with product cuttings for quality checks and supply tenders. Assist colleagues with assessments as required. Maintain kitchen maintenance logs, including temperature checks and cleaning schedules.

 

Kitchen Maintenance and Cleanliness: Assist with kitchen setup and cleanup to ensure kitchen preparedness and setup. Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring it meets the brand standards expected. Report maintenance issues to suppliers and assist with maintaining schedules for test kitchen equipment. Ensure daily removal of food and packaging waste.

 

Project Support: Provide ad-hoc support for projects to support the Food Innovation Team (FIT), Quality Assurance Team (QA), Operations and Marketing & Brand teams.

Requirements

Experience in food safety and kitchen management. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with various teams. Proficiency in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and orderliness. Familiarity with food preparation and kitchen equipment maintenance.

Preffered Qualifications

Background in food innovation, quality control, or similar fields. Experience working in a fast-paced food service environment. Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance requirements.
