RT Assistant Per Diem
**Job Description:** No Summary Available **Shift: Per Diem** Scope + ESSENTIAL DUTIES + Cleans patient rooms or dismissal units; duties include but are not limited to AND disinfecting all surfaces, emptying trash, cleaning of sinks, counter areas, shower and toilet, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, restocking paper products, and shampooing carpet. + Disinfects all public areas duties include but are not limited to sinks, toilets, washing walls, damp mop, and refill paper products, stairwells, damp disinfecting all areas, disinfecting handrails, replacement of blinds and shampooing carpets, buffing or waxing of floors in areas where needed. + Follow proper procedure for separating regular waste versus biohazardous waste, disposal of needles, and storage of clean and dirty linens. + Transports patients and equipment (beds, wheelchairs) to various treatment areas throughout the hospital in a safe and efficient manner 100% of the time. + Assists in transfer process of patient from bed to mode of transportation. + Operates cash register and follows cash handling policies and procedures. + Restocks and rotates food items as needed in food retail areas. + Coordinates the maintenance and repair of department equipment and supplies. + Assists with Conference Room set-up and tear down. + Collaborates with assigned Manager and Supervisor to evaluate and problem solves service needs and volumes and adjusts work assignments accordingly, to ensure safe and quality patient care. + Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with federal and state legal regulations and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations requirements. + Promotes mission, vision, and values and abides by service behavior standards. + Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications **Required** + BLS within 90 days of hire is required (Transport)Biohazards Waste Certification required within six (6) months of hire is required (Environmental Services) + Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program to be considered for this position. + One (1) year of active experience working in a healthcare environment is required Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred + To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Visual acuity: 20/40 far vision and near vision in at least one eye as well as functional peripheral vision and depth perception. Talking: Must utilize clear conversational speech for effective verbal communication with patients and staff.
