RTCH Mechanic
Overview **This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** Under the supervision of the Engineer and Special Purpose Equipment Supervisor and TMP Supervisor, RTCH Mechanic performs the full scope of field and sustainment level service, repairs and overhaul of the KALMAR/RTCH and all variants of material handling equipment (MHE); and other Special Purpose Equipment. Duties: Performs the full range of field and sustainment levels of maintenance to include but not limited to overhaul, repair and services. Check and troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems; remote control systems; and variable frequency drive of crane equipment. Ensures work is complete and conforms to standards and requirements IAW technical manuals, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) manuals and local SOP/IOPs. Utilizes equipment and supplies properly. Test and inspect engine to determine malfunction. Locate missing and broken parts and verify repairs using diagnostic equipment. Perform calibrations with various types of Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and precision devices. Conduct preventative maintenance checks and services (PMCS), administrative services and unscheduled maintenance activities. Work in accordance with instructions contained equipment manuals and workshop time schedules; retain service records. Ensure safekeeping of workshop tools & equipment and comply with occupational health and safety regulations. Conduct Environmental Protection/Control duties. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High School graduate or equivalent. Documented maintenance training on RTCH. Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) Must be a U.S. Citizen A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Kuwait Heavy Duty Driver’s License. Experience: Three (3) years of experience in RTCH maintenance. Skills: Possesses in-depth knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS). Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork. Must be knowledgeable of and possesses the ability to identify the military rank structure. Highly proficient in English, both verbally and written. Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications. High-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately. Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets reports, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals and documents. Must be proficient performing in performing troubleshooting and automotive systems. Possesses good customer service, interpersonal and leadership skills. Must be able to work with people of diverse background. Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
