We have a really exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join Thales Underwater Systems who provide technology to enhance and secure the future of our world leading Sonar Capability to UK and International Navies.
You will be responsible for managing and enabling a product Building Block (BB) based delivery approach, managing the development life cycle and delivery of the UWS RTE product into multiple UWS Sectors and projects.
You will work with the UWS Product Delivery Director to establish a strategy for a product based approach (including hardware and software), aligning goals and monitoring commonality across a suite of products in the UWS domain and then to move into execution to deliver to one or more UK and Export customer(s).
This role is likely to grow in scope and responsibility as UWS moves towards a more embedded product based delivery organisation across all sectors.
This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held; if not currently held it is expected that the post holder will undergo SC Clearance, please visit the UKSV website for further guidance
About You
You will have strong leadership, professional project management expertise, excellent stakeholder management, team building skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and managing risks and opportunities.
You will need a proven track record of delivering successful products or projects in a context relevant to Thales together with the following:-
Leading and managing multi-disciplinary teamsManaging customer and supplier relationshipsLeading the process of structuring and planning complex products or projects and the tailored deployment of best practice product or project controlsDirecting product or project activities with reference to the baseline and critical path, with a focus on proactive risk and opportunity management and controlling variance to time/cost/qualityProduct or project financial and contractual managementWorking across functional boundaries to achieve alignment and support for product or project objectivesDemand/business planning principles in a product or project context with a focus on the reliable forecasting of resource requirements (including critical skills) and working with adjacent functions to schedule those appropriatelyRepresenting products or projects through established governance, giving an evidence-based account of progress and distilling key risks/opportunities/support needed for Senior Management#LI-ST1
