The Bose lab situated in the Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering and Department of Immunology is focused on creating next-generation cell-based therapies for treating human diseases by exploring the interface of biomaterial science, cellular engineering, and immunology. **The applicant will focus on developing high-throughput libraries of biocompatible polymers, hydrogel and polymer-based implants, and new biomaterials. They will also have the opportunity to learn in vitro and in vivo assays to test the materials they have developed** . A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic. **Qualifications** **Requirements:** + Doctoral degree in chemistry, material science, chemical engineering, or any related field. + Strong background in polymer chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, biomedical engineering, or surface chemistry. + Experience with mammalian cell culture and basic molecular biology skills preferred but not required + Experience with using small animal models is preferred but not required + Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team + At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal + Strong written and oral communication skills We welcome applications from candidates who are excited about curiosity-driven research, willing to learn cross-disciplinary skills, and motivated to address challenging biological inquiries.
