Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Maintain, repair, place, install, facility components that require the application of skills in planning, problem solving, and attention to detail, teamwork, communication and adherence to safety.
+ Perform routine maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings do no deteriorate.
+ Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits.
+ Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
+ Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment associated with heating and cooling hydronic systems(piping, pumps, boilers, chillers and cooling towers).
+ Check and record water chemistry in both open and closed loops to provide the proper balance required to maintain and protect the hydronic system.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ High school diploma or GED equivalency.
+ Associate’s degree from an accredited institution preferred in HVAC or Engineering Technology.
+ 2-4 years’ experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment specializing in both heating and cooling hydronic systems.
+ Experience in diagnosing and repair mechanical equipment associated with heating and cooling hydronic systems(piping, pumps, boilers, chillers and cooling towers).
+ Experience in checking and recording the water chemistry in both open and closed loops to provide the proper balance required to maintain and protect the hydronic system.
+ Effective interpersonal communication skills in both verbal and written needed for position.
+ Computer skills needed with knowledge and experience with Google Chrome, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite and willingness to learn new programs.
+ Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
+ Operates assigned vehicles on and/or off campus and is required to possess, maintain, or obtain a valid driver’s license upon appointment to the position.
