ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Construction Superintendent is primarily responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and successful execution of CPP Packages in terms of onshore construction, and have key accountabilities in the following areas:
To assist Head of Construction with organization, management, safe, efficient and timely execution & completion of construction & Pre-commissioning activities for CPP Topside scopes.
Promote and encourage construction team safety-oriented mindset. Lead Company team to participate and promote Incident Free environment, maintain a safety culture in compliance with company HSE rules and legislative regulations.
To participate in Schedule and Resources Review Prior & during commencement of Construction works. Closely work with Company planner and ensure proper and achievable base line schedule set up. Closely monitor actual construction progress, evaluate, assess shortcomings and propose room for improvement.
To follow, to monitor and to supervise activities carried out by CPP Contractor and Subcontractor/Vendors at the main Topside Construction worksite and at sub-contractor facilities during the execution phases, to ensure that contract technical requirements are duly applied by Contractor and/or Subcontractors.
To ascertain that the CPP facilities are built as per the project requirements, the job holder verify and approve Contractor’s and/or Subcontractors/Vendors’ drawings, fabrication procedures and methodologies, and ensure that Contractor and/or Subcontractors/Vendors have adequate equipment, resources, means and manpower to perform the job with the required quality level and to complete it in due time.
To lead several Discipline Superintendents and, as such, is acting as a team leader, informing and motivating them adequately and giving them clear priorities/directions for the performance of their duties. Also provides them support and assistance in their organization, job scheduling and coordination with other disciplines to ensure quality and timely completion of their work.
Actively participate in project weekly/monthly meetings, various audits at Contractors / Sub contractors / Vendors premises.
Establish and maintain close interdisciplinary communication with Company Engineering , HSE , Quality, Commissioning & Field Operations team through out the Project execution phase.
To implement the Company Technical Referential and applicable local and international codes.
You may also have to be involved during CPP Topsides hook-up, installation and offshore commissioning phases.
ACTIVITIES
To promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and other Company HSE procedures in all activities.
To carry out work in compliance with Company values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed Company priorities and objectives, Company standards and procedures and good industry practices.
To assist to define Work Time Schedule with objective to reduce the costs and optimize the duration and to ensure compliance up to Project Close-out,
To actively participate in Detail Engineering phase meetings/workshops/reviews, such as Constructability workshops, HAZID, 3D Model reviews, Project Reviews, HSE and Quality audits, Risks identification and mitigation, etc.
To treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality.
During construction and pre-commissioning phases, the job holder shall (or shall ensure through Yard Superintendent):
To follow up the construction progress, ensure tools, equipment’s, resources meet COMPANY expectations and schedule requirement.
To review and verify EPCIC Contractor’s weekly construction progress claims.
To organise weekly an ad ’hoc construction meetings with Contractor/Sub-Contractors as required,
To lead the Company resources allocation as per Project needs.
Participate to Kick off Meetings with Contractor/Subcontractor with regard to Discipline matters;
Review the relevant Contractor's and suppliers ITP's and procedures (in coordination with other disciplines);
Challenge Contractor and Sub-suppliers on QA/QC performance and Inspection activities, and to perform routine and random inspections daily in this regard.
Monitor the work deficiencies, room for improvements and ensure the implementation of the necessary corrective actions, mitigation plans.
Participate to construction, HSE or QAQC specific audits or visits; Provide regular inspection & activity reports.
Review and approve the different inspection reports issued by the Contractor and/or Subcontractors/Vendors’ on a regular basis.
Use the CPP Topsides 3D model tool to provide constructability feedback, anticipate potential bottlenecks and propose technical solution based on experience and expertise .
Ensure that Contractor and Vendors personnel are qualified for the task they’ve been assigned to.
Issue Non-Conformance reports or review Contractor Non-Conformance reports and validate dispositions. Intervene as necessary where warranted.
Input to issuance of Company standard Deviations applicable to construction activity.
Participate in the resolution of Technical Deviations and Technical Queries with the support of Engineers.
Assist reporting during all phases and more particularly the close-out report and lesson learn.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree or Company approved equivalent in engineering.
Professional Experience (number of years): 15.
Experience within project: (number of years): 10.
Project and practical knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as EN, ISO, ASTM, NACE and SSPC.
Experience on construction yard is required.
A good knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry Standards and International codes/standards related to design, fabrication, inspection and pre-commissioning.
Good leadership skills and good communication skills.
Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
Be skilled in using computer programs for word processing, database management, spreadsheets and e-mail communications.
Familiar with PRODOM/MANASA a benefit
Language: English mandatory.
