S&O Project Manager III
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Planning and Project Management (PPM) function plans, manages and drives the end-to-end lifecycle of projects and project-related workstreams governed by Sales and Operations Leadership. These initiatives range in priority from high-priority, cross-departmental projects that support the achievement of Murphy USA's corporate goals to departmental, functional excellence efforts.

The Planning and Project Manager ensures assigned initiatives are delivered on time/budget and meet or exceed business expectations by 1) partnering with project teams to solve the business problem(s) at hand and making recommendations to project sponsors and owners, 2) providing structure and adhering to quality standards consistent with departmental project standards and 3) anticipating and resolving risks and challenges.

The S&O Planning & Projects Manager is responsible for providing project oversight, leadership, direction, and administration across the entire project lifecycle (team formation, planning, requirements, design, build, test, deployment, and sustainment) and ensures the outputs of the project meet S&O standards for field readiness and sustainability. This may include projects the Planning & Project Manager has direct oversight and accountability for, as well as projects with other Leaders, and would consist of test/pilot type of project work as needed. The Planning & Project Manager must possess Sales & Operations experience and operational knowledge to be effective in the role.

The Planning & Project Manager will be responsible for effectively managing the team (inter and intra-departmental) and stakeholder expectations and engagement through clear communication of roles and responsibilities and regular status updates. The Planning & Project Manager will also lead assigned projects, including plan creation (scope, schedule, and budget) and execution.

The Planning & Project Manager role is a highly visible role requiring significant teamwork and collaboration. The PPM manages expectations of and partners with several internal customers, including S/VP-level project sponsors, Director-level project leads. The Planning & Project Manager will provide day-to-day management and content contributions to the initiatives, manage project charters, and prioritize resource planning and activities.

The Planning & Project Manager will also facilitate intradepartmental and cross-functional meetings and touchpoints to maintain workgroup progress, ensure timelines and commitments are achieved and act as a sensing function for field readiness. The Planning & Project Manager will also develop and facilitate forums where operations work is discussed, prioritized, and actioned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus four years of business operations experience and training, two years related project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
