Summary of Role:
The Aggregation Associate will play a critical role within the Commercial team at Mainstream Renewable Power South Africa. This position is focused on driving sales and negotiations to develop new business opportunities and revenue streams for Mainstream’s utility-scale PV, wind, and battery energy storage projects, primarily targeting commercial, industrial, and energy-intensive clients. This role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including marketing, business development, contract drafting and negotiation, tender and proposal structuring, stakeholder engagement and internal team collaboration and focus on the aggregation part of the business.
What you will do:
Identify prospective clients and build long-term, sustainable relationships to support ongoing business development. Collaborate with internal teams (energy analyses, engineering, modelling etc.) to analyse client requirements and customize product offerings to meet specific customer needs. Prepare detailed proposals and presentations for potential customers. Effectively communicate technical product and service information, as well as financial details, to clients clearly and concisely. Support the negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with clients, ensuring that the terms are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and financial goals. Work closely with internal and external legal and technical teams to draft, review, and refine PPAs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Take the lead on finalizing and closing key deals and agreements, ensuring acceptable terms for the business while meeting client requirements and expectations. Ensure timely and effective communication with stakeholders throughout the closing process, addressing any outstanding issues or concerns to facilitate a smooth conclusion.What we require:
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Law, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development, with a preference for experience in the renewable energy sector. Experience in contract negotiation and drafting, particularly in the energy or utility sectors. Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with a strong problem-solving approach. Ability to establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively. Motivated to achieve success, comfortable with challenges, and committed to personal and professional growth. Willingness to travel and engage in one-on-one client negotiations as needed. A collaborative team player, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams
