Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager


As a leading SHEQ Professional for our Telco sector, you will work with the SKAO project team to foster an integrated approach to deliver on legal, contractual, and business SHEQ requirements. This is a Fixed Term contract working a 2:1 roster, fly in fly out of Perth to Boolardy Station, 700km North of Perth.

 

The Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) project is an international effort supported by 16 countries to build the world’s largest radio telescopes, led by the SKAO. 

 

Ventia has been awarded a significant part of the contract and is leveraging our telecommunications capabilities for this exciting project. 

 

Our scope includes the provision of power and fibre networks, and the design and commission of a Central Processing Facility (CPF) and Remote Processing Facilities (RPF) at the Australian site. 

 

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the SHEQ Business Manager, you will be responsible for implementing the Ventia SHEQ Strategy at the site level You will be leading, communicating and providing strategic SHEQ advice and support to the Project Director, Operations Managers, SHEQ team and subcontractors Leading a team of SHEQ professionals on site to ensure site safety performance and compliance measures are in place Managing and applying the Ventia SHEQ governance framework and management system. Using systems and processes to enable an integrated approach to SHEQ management so we continue to deliver on our legal, contractual and business requirements Working with the project team to apply relevant legislation, regulations and standards Delivering on our environmental commitment towards a Healthy Planet

About you:

Experience leading a SHEQ team within a high-risk construction setting Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement SHEQ strategies to ensure compliance, minimise risk and enable continuous improvement Ability to implement, track and maintain SHEQ objectives and targets Experience leading ICAM investigations Operational experience in high-risk environments Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Workplace/Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental management Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards Proficient in using online applications including Microsoft Office, safety management and reporting systems
