Job Description

Albemarle is hiring a Safety Advisor. This position is located on site at Kemerton.

What You Will Do

Maintain and enhance the safety component of the HSE Management System so that it meets the requirements of recognised international standards.

Provide advice to the business to ensure ongoing compliance with both internal and external standards and legislative requirements.

Maintaining and executing the business’s Safety Plan.

Support the delivery of world class safety leadership programs inclusive of behavioural based safety.

Support the Safety team in delivering Operational Excellence.

Facilitate safety auditing and management engagement across site

Be a champion for the Albemarle Life Saving rules particularly Permit to Work and Lock out Tag out systems.

Support safety improvement projects

Support safety related investigations

Support contractor safety programs

Support safety related reporting for internal and external audiences

Previous site-based experience working in heavy industry, mining, refining, or processing environments

Genuine passion towards and experience in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety systems, processes, and procedures

Skilled in effective communication and stakeholder management to build rapport and influence.

Passionate and committed to all aspects of safety.

Required:

Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in a similar role in Mining, Chemical Refining or resources environment.

Minimum of Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or significant experience

Strong computer literacy

A demonstrated proven work ethic and team player.

Excellent problem solving with a high attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral coupled with the ability to develop, engage, and maintain relationships for a range of stakeholders at all levels.

Experience in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety systems, processes, and procedures

Well-developed understanding in relevant legislation

Preferred:

Diploma or higher in a relevant safety and health field preferred
