Job Description
The Field Safety Advisor is responsible for administering and overseeing the work authorization process. They are required to monitor the jobsite for at-risk worker behaviors and worksite conditions. The Field Safety Advisor ensures the Project Site Safety and Health Plan is communicated and utilized by all project contractors. They are responsible for all project safety communications and participating in incident investigations and corrective actions.
ResponsibilitiesAdminister and oversee the work authorization processMonitor the jobsite for at-risk worker behaviors and worksite conditionsEnsure the Project Site Safety and Health Plan is communicated and utilized by all project contractorsParticipate in incident investigations and corrective actionsPrepare and analyze reports for a variety of safety programs and ensure compliance with legal reporting requirementsResearch information and conduct/participate in surveys and data requests, analyze results and recommend improvementsApply technical knowledge, skills, and judgment to solve problemsResearch regulatory changes (federal and state) and trends to maintain consistency and compliance with laws, company safety policies, and proceduresStrive for continuous process improvement and make recommendations to align people, systems, and strategiesExercise supervisory authority to stop work due to unsafe work practices or conditionsAssist in the investigation and analysis of safety incidents and injuries and develop procedures to prevent recurrenceProvide Safety and Health services and safety training for assigned internal customer groupsServe as a Technical advisor for safety committees for assigned internal customer groupsConduct safety awareness presentations/training for the public or other outside organizations as neededDemonstrate knowledge of standard electric utility safety program componentsMaintain effective working relationships with the Project Safety Director, Project Safety Advisors Colleagues, Project Leadership Team Members, Corporate Project Leadership, Contractor Supervisors and Superintendents, Safety Committed Members, and Engineering Support RepresentativesEssential Skills3 years of construction-related experience or a Safety DegreeOSHA 30 certificationComputer skillsKnowledge in health & safety, compliance, EHS, audit, environmental health & safety, safety management, and reportingExperience with OSHA logsAnalytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, conflict resolution, oral and written communication, and customer relations skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsAdditional safety certifications preferredWork Environment
The Safety Advisor will work closely with various project team members including the Project Safety Director, Project Safety Advisors Colleagues, Project Leadership Team Members, Corporate Project Leadership, Contractor Supervisors and Superintendents, Safety Committed Members, and Engineering Support Representatives. The role requires engagement with internal and external stakeholders, conducting safety training, and ensuring a safe working environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
