Job Overview The Safety and Risk Manager (SRM) is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a safety program that aligns with all local directives, regulatory systems, contract strategies and organizational policies and procedures. The primary role of the SRM is to develop and enact practices that protect the people, the environment, property, financial and other company and customer resources. The incumbent advises on regulation changes and their implementation. He/she will provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve safe work practices and environments. The SRM leads the business safety culture and actively works with department heads to identify and reduce risks. This position is designed to establish and maintain a strong safety culture through awareness and commitment, while mitigating risk factors, for operations and maintenance; logistics and transportation; construction; and all supporting contract departments. Salary: $130,686.40/ yearly Work Model: Onsite/ In-Office Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Develops, implements, maintains ESH procedures and plans designed for ensuring compliance withcontract requirements governing regulatory authorities and company policies. Acts as primary point of contact for all safety and risk related issues. Ensures compliance with safety procedures through inspections, training and evaluations whilekeeping abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigates and establishes correctiveactions for issues and complaints relating to safety and risk. Establishes and maintains a strong safety culture and continuous focus at all levels of the organization through education, awareness, recognition, etc. Leads proper execution of key safety processes, including incident investigations, near miss reports,training, recordkeeping, trend analysis, New Hire Orientation, After Action Reviews/Reports, jobhazard analyses, etc. Leads preparation and participation in compliance audits; ensures ongoing compliance with processes, policies, recordkeeping, reporting, etc. Effectively and actively utilizes online safety records management database to manage incident, nearmiss and training records as required for all site metrics. Executes data-driven programs and analyses that identify, measure and monitor risk and safetyexposures. Develops, implements and manages an emergency response program for each department. Develops and presents management level presentations as well as contract wide briefings. Dedicates 20%+ to field time for education and inspection opportunities. Monitors and reviews subcontractor safety plans for compliance. Proactively collaborates with Human Resources and Project Management to manage Worker’sCompensation, L&I related claims, return to work, etc. Efficiently and effectively coordinates multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously. Provides clear and decisive written and oral communication. Establishes and proactively maintains a collaborative relationship with customer and company staff. Maintains a high degree of professionalism and works well with all levels of the organization. Operates Government and company owned motor vehicles. Adheres to established company safety personnel and standard operating procedures and policies. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: Bachelor degree in safety or a related field with 5+ years of experience in a safety/risk leadership roleor 10+ years of experience without a degree. Significant working knowledge in the application of OSHA regulations as applicable to facilitiesmaintenance, facility operations, construction, and/or industrial safety/environmental programs in alarge campus environment. Demonstrated ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of process improvement,safety, and reliability. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite Programs, particularly Word and Excel. U.S. Citizenship. Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and work on steep and uneven ground. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) levelintelligence community clearance. Ability to travel (estimated 5%) to support remote customer and company projects/initiatives. Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen. Valid state independent driver’s license with a suitable driving record. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
