As the Safety and Security Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect personnel, assets, and facilities in compliance with Dutch law and EU regulations. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and authorities to ensure a secure and legally compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the DC safety effort, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and with Dutch labor laws (e.g., Arbowet) and EU directives.Manage and update the BHV plan; coordinate training and drills for emergency response teams.Maintain safety documentation, incident logs, and compliance reports for inspections and audits.Participate in daily/weekly operational meetings to proactively address safety/security risks.Serve as the liaison with local law enforcement, fire department, and emergency services.Investigate safety and security incidents and maintain accurate records.Deliver safety training and awareness programs for staff, contractors, and visitors.Monitor and evaluate global/regional risk trends relevant to our business operations in The Netherlands.Maintain and monitor burglar/fire alarms, security cameras, entry and access control systems, lock and key control, and other physical security programs according to AEO certification.Conduct alarm system tests, gap checks, routine security rounds, and weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections with prudent follow-up.Supervise and develop contract Security Guard personnel.Qualifications
Relevant 2nd level Certificate qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety. In-depth knowledge of Dutch and European occupational health and safety laws.Bachelor’s degree in safety management, Security Studies, or related field.Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety or security management role, preferably in a corporate, logistics, or industrial setting.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.Working Conditions
Based in Venlo, not remotely. Monday thru Friday schedule, with occasional work required on a weekend. On-call availability for emergency situations may be required.Our offer
