Accidents and injuries are preventable.Employees – Employees are Transdev’s most valuable resources and are to be treated with mutual respect and provided opportunities for professional developmentFiscal Responsibility – Individually and as a team we are accountable for safeguarding and wisely spending the dollars entrusted to the project.Integrity – We rely on the professional ethics and honesty of every Transdev employeeInnovation – Creativity and innovative thinking are valued, and new ideas are welcomedCustomer Satisfaction – We strive to exceed the expectations of our customersTeamwork – We actively seek to blend our individual talents in order to be the best in the nation Examples of Duties  Assist in recruiting new Bus Operators to be placed into in-service training ensuring that training efforts meet departmental staffing needs.Provide and/or assist in managing classroom and behind the wheel training according to Transdev's specification and in accordance to the Client's specifications in all aspects of vehicle operation. Provide and/or manage monthly safety meetings in topics relevant to the service and service area.Respond to and/or provide for trained staff response to operator accidents and incidents, per company policy.Review all vehicular, passenger and employee accidents/incidents for determination of cause and preventability, identifying potential trends to be addressed in future training efforts as well as ensuring that retraining and safety points are assessed according to company policy.In conjunction with corporate staff, manage all aspects of the Drug and Alcohol Testing program including pre-employment, random and post-accident testing requirements. Conduct regular reviews of local testing facilities ensuring compliance with corporate and federal policy.Establish functional Safety Committee of operators and staff to review safety concerns and make recommendations to management for potential additional safety efforts.Assist operations and maintenance departments in identifying additional or refresher training needs based on current trends within the employee base.Ensure complete and accurate documentation of all training activities and accurate completion of all training related employee records.Work with key RTC personnel to identify additional training needs, resources and opportunities.Assist the Safety & Training Manager in working with corporate claims department staff to ensure that all liability and worker's compensation claims are handled promptly and effectively and, in an effort, to reduce financial liability as well as recoup on all subrogate claims.Assist in proactively managing all employee injury claims in an effort to minimize lost time and light duty claims. Work with local medical facilities to ensure that injured employees are placed on light duty as quickly as possible and are returned to full-duty status promptly.Conduct regular audits of employee training files and vehicle maintenance files and conduct regular facility safety audits ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and related corporate policies.Ensure that operator performance reviews, ride along, road checks and evaluations are conducted according to local and corporate policy and requirements. Provide feedback and follow up for operator performance reviews and identify individual training needs where necessary.Assist in hiring all safety department employees including classroom and behind the wheel instructors, ensuring that all safety staff have all appropriate qualifications, certifications and training and that staff assignments are made in consideration of applicable budget line items.Ensure that all project training materials are up to date, that necessary supplies are available and that inventories are secured and kept up to date.Provide regular reports to local and corporate management staff of safety department efforts, claims status, training efforts, accident history, worker's compensation claims status, and other required information.Other duties as required.Assist with retraining for post accidents.Keep trackers up to date.Coach, counsel, and identify operators on drive-cam.Assist with managing training numbers. Essential Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of: Bus/ operations, system safety and assurance programs and procedures as it relates to bus transit.Theories and principles of system safety management work practices as well as occupational safety and health administrationApplicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations governing design and operation of bus -related systems equipment, fire, safety, and occupational health laws and regulations.Safety organizations and regulatory agenciesModern management theoryAbility to: Understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, budgets, and labor/management agreements.Manage projects effectively.Analyze situations, identify problems and hazardous conditions, recommend solutions, and monitor progress to achieve desired outcomes.Prepare comprehensive reports and correspondence.Exercise sound judgment in day-to-day as well in emergency situationsCommunicate effectively both orally and in writing.Interact professionally with various levels of Company employees and outside representatives.Determine strategies to achieve goals.Compile, analyze, and interpret complex data.Conduct monthly facility inspections.Minimum Qualifications 
Potential candidates interested in the SAFETY & TRAINING SUPERVISOR position MUST meet the following requirements:Valid Nevada Commercial Class B or A driver's license w/ Passenger Endorsement2 years in safety management or other related experienceBus transit safety courses desirableProfessional certificate/licenses: Safety Professional; Occupational Safety and Health desirableAbility to read, write, and speak English.Special Conditions Frequent exposure to weather, physical, mechanical, and electrical hazards.Physical Requirements: 70% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.30% of work is accomplished outside or in a vehicle.Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of passengers and materials.While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.
