The Safety Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal laws regulating environmental, occupational, and fire and life safety compliance. This position will be responsible for hazardous waste management and disposal coordination, compliance inspections, SPPC Plan coordination and adherence, safety training, chemical inventory management, and the like.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two (2) years of related work experience
+ Note - Experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's Degree
+ Three (3) or more years of experience in environmental, occupational and/or fire and life safety
+ Experience working for a state agency
+ Experience writing and/or enforcing policies and procedures
+ Experience with environmental software programs
+ Experience in developing and instructing safety trainings
+ Ability to use a computer and knowledge of basic computer program functions
+ Valid driver's license
Physical Demands:
Ability to life/move objects weighing 15lbs or more; ability to work in various environmental conditions. This position will work both in the field and in an office environment.
Salary/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
