SummaryA Safety Consultant is responsible for ensuring that workplaces comply with safety regulations, identifying potential hazards, and implementing policies and practices to promote a safe working environment. This role often involves working across industries such as construction, manufacturing, healthcare, or corporate settings.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:• Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear. Standing or sitting for extended periods of time may be required.• Regular travel to sites may be required.• Both office and fieldwork, depending on the project.• May involve exposure to industrial or hazardous environments during inspections.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Evaluate work environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.Create or improve safety policies and procedures tailored to specific industries or company needs.Establish emergency response plans and training programs.Provide safety training to employees on topics such as equipment use, hazard identification, and emergency protocols.Conduct workshops, seminars, or toolbox talks to promote awareness.Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).Keep abreast of changes in safety laws and regulations to update practices as necessary.Investigate workplace incidents to determine root causes and implement preventative measures.Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommend actionable solutions.Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.Compile reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.Evaluate job-specific risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.Perform regular reviews of risk management practices.Advocate for a proactive approach to workplace safety.Collaborate with leadership and employees to foster a culture of safety.Other duties may be assigned.Required Qualifications:Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification). Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.OSHA Certification, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or other relevant credentials.Previous experience in safety consulting, risk management, or a related role.Ability to read & write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Knowledge of written communication formats and composition, including grammar and vocabulary. Ability to present to one or more people, including customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to speak effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients. Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop and cell phone, including sending and receiving emails, prepare and present PowerPoint Presentations, and learn Deltek Vision, SAP Concur, and CRM software.  Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw or create, and interpret, bar graphs. Reasoning ability to handle multiple and changing priorities concurrently. Ability to work with problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to effectively communicate about products, services, and technical requirements to both the client/customer and employees within UES. Preferred Qualifications:Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Analytical skills for identifying risks and creating solutions.Ability to train and educate diverse teams effectively.Proficiency in safety software and tools.Who We Are:   UES provides essential engineering services for some of the most prominent and significant projects in the nation.
