Safety Coordinator II

Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator II is responsible for the coordination, facilitation, and supervision of the facility's safety programs and initiatives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure that safe job practices are followed, protective equipment is properly utilized, and all required machine/process guards are in place and operationalInvestigates and facilitate the investigation of all accidents and near-miss occurrences, identify trends and causes, and ensure that corrective measures are implementedWorks with management to develop safety programs and incentives as appropriateConducts new hire training and ensures new employees understand safety practices and policiesProvides training to employees on the safe and appropriate operation of machinery and equipmentChairs the Safety CommitteeManages inventory of safety-related products including PPE, medical first-aid supplies, videos, etc.Ensures the facility maintains the proper number of personnel trained in first aid and CPR and that the required level of safety and medical supplies are maintained in inventoryConducts and certifies all forklift trainingCoordinates annual fire inspection tours and planned/unplanned tours by other safety and health regulatory agenciesMonitors facility hearing conservation programCoordinates work duties for employees on medical restrictionsMaintains appropriate communication with immediate management, Human Resources, and third-party claims administratorsMaintains OSHA 300 log and other required reportsPrepares regular and special reports as requiredPerforms other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum high school graduateMinimum two to four years of experience in safety or woodworking operationsWorking knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications Excel, Word, and OutlookMinimum certification in First Aid and CPR and working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulationsSuccessful completion of OSHA 10 certification
