Job Title: Safety Director

Job Description

The Director of Safety plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of all workers in the manufacturing process. The position is responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety inspections and audits, providing safety training, and analyzing safety data. The director of safety provides leadership and direction to a team of safety members and collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the industrial manufacturing process.

Roles and Responsibilities

•\tDevelop and implement strategies for creating, sustaining, and evolving a safety culture.

•\tProvide strategic direction, supervision, and guidance to ensure alignment with company policies and goals that drive to a zero-incident culture.

•\tDevelop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

•\tConduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

•\tDevelop and deliver weekly safety training to educate manufacturing workers and management on safety best practices.

•\tEstablish and maintain safety records and documentation, including accident reports, safety training records, and safety inspection reports.

•\tAnalyze safety data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement and develop strategies to address safety issues.

•\tMonitor safety performance and provide feedback to management.

•\tDevelop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, safety professionals, and industry associations to stay current on safety regulations, standards, and best practices.

•\tRespond to safety incidents and emergencies and investigate incidents to identify causes and implement corrective actions.

•\tProvide safety training for new employees during orientation to include, review of the safety handbook, review of the job hazard forms, hands on tool training, and plant tours.
