We are currently seeking an experienced Safety Engineer in support of the Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS).The Safety Engineer will serve as the lead for system safety engineering activities within the assigned program office, overseeing safety engineering efforts across all life cycle phases. This role includes conducting risk assessments, hazard analyses, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to mitigate risks and enhance system safety. The Safety Engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders, provide safety-related guidance, and contribute to programmatic documentation and decision-making processes.Responsibilities Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations for risk mitigation. Ensure early identification and reduction of safety and health hazards. Maintain continuous surveillance over systems to provide guidance and assist with corrective actions. Review and evaluate engineering concepts, technical solutions, and test results to ensure safety requirements are incorporated. Maintain and manage hazard tracking systems to document risks and corrective actions. Prepare and track formal risk acceptance documentation and system safety certifications. Provide safety evaluations and recommendations for accident and incident reports to eliminate unsafe designs. QualificationsSecret Security Clearance A Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or general Engineering from a college or university.  A Master’s degree in any of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of general experience.  A minimum of five years experience in the development, analysis, and evaluation of system safety artifacts in support of U.S. Military ground vehicle systems.Additional Information
