As a Safety Engineer, you will ensure that our industry-leading networking products meet the highest safety standards.
Your Impact Innovate and design for safety, conducting rigorous product testing to 60950-1 and 62368-1 for regulatory certification. Dive into PCB design layout, stack-up reviews, and schematic and product construction reviews. Develop comprehensive safety compliance program plans, budgets, and schedules. Lead internal investigations of safety compliance issues and propose effective mitigation plans. Participate in audits to ensure alignment with safety standards and accreditations. Keep the team informed with status updates and test schedules during project meetings. Communicate and resolve issues with the product development team. File compliance reports with regulatory agencies (UL/CSA) and meticulously document compliance activities. Stay ahead of industry changes and trends, assessing their impact on product shipments. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 4+ years of related experience or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of related experience. Experience in industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements (Safety, IEC62368-1, and CSA/UL62368-1). Experience with Excel and PowerPoint. Experience reviewing PCB design/layout/stack-up. Preferred Qualifications Experience creating safety test plans and test reports. Good understanding of networking products. Proficiency in Python, SCPI, and other automated data collection techniques. Experience working in a lab environment/electrical testing. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. Experience mentoring peers and/or engineering interns. #WeAreCisco
