At BWXT, our interns perform challenging tasks in their field of study while developing and delivering unique solutions for use in a nuclear environment. A BWXT internship not only provides valuable on the job training but allows you to be a part of something bigger!
BWXT offers paid internships along with a housing stipend for those interns whose home of record is more than 50 miles from Barberton, OH. Internships will last approximately 10-12 weeks. At the end of the internship, each intern has the opportunity to present their completed work/ assigned projects to the leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates behaviors that foster and promote a strong safety conscious work environment (SCWE). Support in the development of materials that improve existing work methods, services or outcomes and promotes the accomplishment of safe and compliant results. Assist with reviewing and updating safety policies. Learn and be exposed to the structure and operations of the Barberton site Safety team. The site is comprised over 1,000 employees. Assists with reviewing and creating performance analysis activities. Support site safety culture and human performance advancement initiatives. Assist with monitoring and updating environmental systems and process. Conduct audits and observations that will be used in the development of safety trend patterns in order to best determine asset utilization.
Requirements:
Successful candidates must be persuing a Safety or engineering related education Students must be at a Junior standing or above at the time the internship begins Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher US citizenship with no dual citizenship is required for this position
