Job Summary
Job Summary: The Safety Intern will assist the Safety Manager and the safety team in implementing and maintaining safety programs to ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in safety practices and contribute to a culture of safety within Barrett MWC.
Main Responsibilities
+ Assist in the development and implementation of safety training programs.
+ Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
+ Help prepare and maintain safety documentation, including reports and records.
+ Support the investigation of safety incidents and help prepare incident reports.
+ Participate in safety meetings and contribute to discussions on safety improvements.
+ Assist in the creation and dissemination of safety communication materials.
+ Help maintain inventory of safety supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
+ Conduct research on safety regulations and best practices as needed.
Qualifications
+ Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
+ Strong interest in safety and health practices.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Knowledge of OSHA regulations is a plus,but not required.
