Safety Lead

Aplin has partnered with a top-tier construction company in the GTA who is seeking an experienced Safety Lead to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on major civil infrastructure projects, driving high safety standards across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil construction, demonstrated leadership skills, and a passion for fostering a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:Report directly to the Safety Manager, supporting the implementation and enforcement of safety policies and procedures.Lead, mentor, and oversee a safety team of 3-4 professionals.Collaborate with the construction management team to ensure seamless integration of safety protocols across project activities.Manage and maintain safety programs, manuals, and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.Monitor site safety performance, conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations, and provide corrective action recommendations.Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions for on-site teams and subcontractors.Maintain high safety records by identifying and mitigating risks in dynamic construction environments.Stay current with occupational health and safety regulations and ensure continuous improvement of safety programs.Qualifications:5+ years of experience in a safety leadership role, preferably in civil construction projects.Strong understanding of safety management systems, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional collaboration.Familiarity with safety-related software and reporting tools.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CRSP, NCSO, or equivalent) are an asset.
