Boeing Defence UK is offering the opportunity to join their expansive Safety Management System (SMS) team in support of the Boeing UK Apache Programme. The successful candidate will be joining a large multidisciplinary SMS team and will be responsible for ensuring a Positive Safety Culture is embedded and sustained in this crucial UK MoD programme.
The AH-64E Safety Official will report to the BDUK SMS Safety Official Manager to oversee the implementation of the BDUK SMS within the Apache Long Term Training and Support Service (LTTSS) programme. The role will be based at the Army Air Corps Centre, Middle Wallop, Hampshire.
The role has the following key responsibilities:
Develop and sustain a Positive Safety Culture within the Boeing UK AH-64E Programme. Management of all AH-64E safety occurrence reports including safety actions and recommendations.Facilitation of Hazard Identification Working Groups to create and mature functional BowTies.Maintenance of the programme Safety Risk Register. Perform Safety Investigations in response to the triaging of safety reports.Perform Safety Promotion and feedback.Manage the SMS meetings schedule for the Boeing UK AH-64E Programme.Creation and maintenance of the Programme SMS documentation.Establish and maintain SMS interface with the customer Air Safety Teams and key Suppliers.Delivery of SMS and HF training within the programme as required to support compliance with regulation.Support to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Party auditsTravel within the UK is expected and some overseas travel may be required.What we can offer you:

Formal engineering or flying qualification including experience in aircraft operations, or aircraft maintenance/ engineering.Formal Safety Management Systems training and experience,Training in Safety Risk Management and experience in utilising BowTie methodology.Previous military or civil experience in the creation and application of safety policy and SMS requirements in an aviation context.Experience and understanding of civil or military aviation regulation and its application.Qualified Safety Investigator with experience in conducting safety investigations over a number of years.Experience in developing and utilising metrics to measure SMS performance.Experience in managing large volumes of safety reports using military or civil reporting tools and processes.Experience in working across multiple functions and levels to build relationships and understanding in order to build trust and a positive safety culture.The candidate should possess strong communication and organisational skills and demonstrate the ability to use common IT and project management concepts/tools.The role will have significant UK MoD customer, supplier and wider Boeing interfaces and, therefore, a person who possess good interpersonal skills balanced with diplomacy and resolve is essential. The ability to obtain UK Security ClearanceDesirable competencies
Qualified and experienced Human Factors trainer.Experience using the MoD’s ASIMS tool for in-service occurrence monitoring and trending or a civil equivalent system.Experience in data analytics.Visa Sponsorship and Relocation are not available for this role.
