Our client is an established main contractor with extensive operations in Ireland, UK, and Europe. Due to a full order book across all regions, our client is now looking for an experienced Safety Manager for Data Centre projects. As Safety Manager you will be developing, implementing, and managing safety protocols and standards to ensure a safe working environment throughout all phases of data centre's projects. With deep understanding of construction safety practices, experience in high-risk environments, and knowledge of data centre-specific safety requirements you will work closely with construction teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and eliminate risks.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Design and implement comprehensive health and safety policies that adhere to company standards, industry regulations, and legislations.
Lead regular risk assessments to identify and evaluate hazards, documenting findings and working closely with the team to correct any hazards.
Promote awareness of safety protocols and emergency response procedures among all on-site personnel.
Lead investigations into any safety incidents, including near misses, minor accidents, critical incidents and determine root causes and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
Participate in project meetings to discuss and address any safety-related issues, working to align the construction plan with safety goals.
Collaborate with the Quality Control, Operations, and Engineering teams to integrate safety standards into project design and execution.
Keep detailed records of safety audits, training sessions, incident reports, and regulatory compliance documentation ensuring all safety records are up-to-date and accessible.
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
Familiarity with safety protocols for high-risk construction environments.
Effective communication skills and the ability to convey safety standards to a diverse team.
High attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential safety risks.
