Our client, a third-party logistics (3PL) company is looking to hire a Safety Manager for their location in Phoenix, AZ. Supervisory skills in addition to warehousing experience is required for this position. Familiarity with personal computers and materials handling equipment is essential. Responsibilities include conferring with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to be better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.

The Day-to-Day:

Conducts needed assessments and develops training plans as needed.Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of freeport.Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as new hires, on-the-job training, and re-occurring training.Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.Develop strong relationship with all departments to develop course materials and receive feedback.Provide leadership to maintain clean work areas, free of safety hazards, ensure others do the same.Lead team members to work in a safe manner and participate in safety training, ensure others working with you follow correct safety procedures.Oversee Safety and Risk management program.Serve as a liaison to risk management insurer.Promotes continued health, safety awareness and maintenance.Train staff members in food safety handingTrain all staff members in health and safety requirements as outlined in the company quality manual

Qualifications:

High School DiplomaMust have prior safety experienceAbility to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to develop and proof training materials.Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees.Must have an Active train the trainer certificate for forklift training

Pay Rate/Shifts:

$20.00 to $24.00 /hrMonday to Friday8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
